Directions


GPS : run site is close to N3 33.973 E101 33.190 (not verified, best read directions as well)

Take North South Highway going North and exit Lembah Beringin.
At 1km after toll turn left towards Kerling (signposted Pelangi Hill Resort, Kerling and Lembah Beringan Golf Club).
Follow road passing golf course, guard house and several speed bumps.
At 2km (from Toll) turn right opposite abandoned houses. (also signposted - Pelangi Hill Resort, Kerling- and Lembah Beringan Golf Club).
At 4km (from Toll) pass through boom gate, 300m further on turn right into run site, park tightly.
Bring umbrellas for shade or rain, dependent upon the weather.

- Travel whichever way to Rawang.
- Head North up the old Ipoh Road passing Serendah and the big Golf Ball.
- 500 meters after "IPOH 164km" milestone tum right into residential area.
- Drive for 1.7km and tum right.
- Another 600 meters tum right again and drive 500 meters up slope and park.

On On


ON ON at Restoran Choon Nui, Rawang
Drive back to Rawang and head towards KL by the old road (ie old Ipoh
Road, towards Batu Caves and KL).
As you exit Rawang pass 2 traffic lights and a Shell Station on your right.
After passing the 2nd traffic light keep left. Restaurant is on the left which is
about 50 meters before BP station on the opposite side.

For the GPS enabled, key in 3deg 27min 50.41N, 101deg 41min 48.85E (info provided by the hare)

From BATU CAVES take the B57 Hulu Yam Baharu road (past the Hulu Yam dam and reservoir) to Hulu Yam.
0 km. In the center of Hulu Yam town take the RIGHT turn onto B113 signposted to Genting Highlands. and reset your trip-meter.
4.4 km Traffic light, Shell station on Left, turn RIGHT onto B114. Signposted Air Panas Hulu Tamu
8.0 km At abandoned TNB substation turn RIGHT. Direction sign: Air Panas Hulu Tamu
8.3 km Cross wooden bridge over river
9.8 km turn RIGHT into Hulu Tamu Hot Springs (sign: Air Panas Hulu Tamu) used by locals and private houses so park responsibly!

From RAWANG continue north on Highway 1 ( Old Ipoh Road ) through Serendah to Batang Kali.
0 km At traffic light in Batang Kali turn RIGHT onto B113, and reset your trip-meter
1.9 km At traffic lights (Shell station on right) turn LEFT onto B114. Direction sign : Air Panas Hulu Tamu
5.5 km At abandoned TNB substation turn RIGHT. Sign: Air Panas Hulu Tamu
5.8 km Cross wooden bridge over river
7.3 km turn RIGHT into Hulu Tamu Hot Springs (sign: Air Panas Hulu Tamu) and park responsibly!

On On

At the Old Lucky Lite Restaurant:
Back-track to the traffic light / cross-roads with the Shell station.
Turn LEFT and follow road for 2.3 km to the junction with Genting Highlands road.

Run 1789 - 25 June 2011 - GAWAI

THIS IS THE GAWAI CELEBRATION RUN. PUT TOGETHER BY THE EAST MALAYSIANS

GPS - N03 27.242 E101 37.938

1) Travel whichever way to Rawang. Go through Rawang and head up old Ipoh Road passing Serendah, the big Golf Ball and Antara Gapi.
2) 400 meters after the "IPOH 160km" milestone (approx 16km from Rawang), turn LEFT at 'ELF' sign. Then go right and then left.
3) Drive on the pebble road for 300 meters and park in uncompleted shaded factory site ( last run there was St George party on April 23rd 2011)
4) Note that if you pass a Supermarket on you right on the main road you have gone 200 meters too far.

watch you head(s) the hunters will be on the prowl !

Makan on site. Most likely some Borneo treats. Get ready for grubs fried or steamed, sesame coated grasshoppers, live ants, orang utan brains, monkey tails, carnivorous plants and other delicacies.
Please ensure you have some change ready.
On-On food : RM10 (bring your own chair lest you prefer to stand or sit on the ground and a table if you want to dissect your grub)
