As we were near the site that says to continue onto the laterite road, there was a hash sign on top of the junior hash sign and due to the rain, it looks like we were on the following the junior hash directions!! However, Abraham in his 4 wheel drove passed us and we though we’ll follow him and follow him we did for quite a while on the laterite road; me hanging onto the hand rail as the 4 wheel-drive went through quite a long and bumpy ride on the laterite road.
When we got to the run site, it was like 5 p.m. We proceed to the bridge and I came to a vast open area, with a slight slope ahead of me, there was a clump of trees and there were the hare and co-hares on their way back. I saw they were hiding, waiting for me to pass before they emerged. I continued on and caught up with Dan Percival and Bog brush, passing them and up a bit of a slope. At the second check I caught up with Amelia and Sue and two other new hashers. If ever I am late, once I caught up with Amelia I know I can relax.
Further up the oil palm, I met up with John Lavell who has went round the circular and coming out of the circular. That saves me 5 minutes and back to running. After a bit of trudging I came to a slope, I look out and saw lovely serene valley of young palm trees and slight slope. Lovely view! I then continue passing no one and seeing no one and actually jogging through those serene valley of young palm trees and then coming up below the vast slight slope, in the far distance I could see 2 figures having a slow walk, chatting away. I make my way up and found out those two figures in the distance was actually Nancy Stott and Candy. Passing them and running along, passing the bridge and back to the beer truck!
When I came back most people were back and already drinking and showering. I saw Collin all showered and changed. He informed me that the 1st runner has come in 1hr. 15 mins.
On the whole, a good run however a bit mundane due to the same terrain throughout.
On On was at Chin Heong. Lovely Braised Pork Leg and we have two serves, one in the beginning and maybe there was too much fat and not enough meat on the first one and the hare, ordered another serving. Good turn out of 5 tables at the On On.
