Kuala Lumpur is indeed a happening place! You have the St Andrew’s Ball, the Full Moon Hash Anniversary Bash, the Prime Minister of Malaysia’s birthday bash and of course the PH3 run all happening on the same day. So which do you go for? The PH3 run, of course!
So there we were at the run site promptly 10 minutes before 4.30pm and found the place with not the usual half the population of KL, but only 50 Saturday diehards. Anyway, for a change the hare greeted us with a sweet smile at the run site. Apparently she had to set the run early in the morning so her cohare can do the Full Moon Bash.
On On was called 5 minutes early. Paper led up the hill and veered right before decending down to oil palm. Knowing this to be a Jim Leggert a la Special , we just cut straight down to join the front runners. As usual I never know how many checks there were or who broke them. I was quite happy walking with the knitting circle, enjoying the break from the concrete jungle and at the same time having some happy banter with the back walkers.
I came in at 6pm to find quite a few people already enjoying the cold beers and 100plus doled out by faithfull Ramli. The rest of the pack were in well before 6.30pm with the exception of Wolfgang who sauntered in at 6.45pm having gotten lost while trying to short cut
Well, as only 2 committee members were present and both being the hare and cohare (Ed's note I believe at least the ON Cash was also present), Wolfgang was commissioned to run the circle. Various sinners were on downed for various travesties. Then there followed some animated discourse on the proposed increase of subs.; pretty much in the fashion of Speakers’ Corner in Hyde Park. But then true to German precision , the circle had to end at 7.30pm sharp.although there were quite a few waiting to speak their piece. His closing words were ,” Let’s not talk now while we are hungry. Will the hare please tell us where the on on is!”
The on on was at some restaurant in Subang New village . I heard the food was good and the run was justly awarded a T-shirt run.
Thanks Soo for setting a good run and most of all, for being there despite all the attractions of the day.
On On.
