Venue: Ulu Yam Baru

Co-Hares: Nick & Michelle Mason

First of all, I wish to thank all those who helped to divert the hash traffic to the run site the previous week after the road closure. Great hash spirit. Within ˝ hour of our SOS, Charles was sending SMS and Hugh was emailing everyone on the alternate route.

Leng Chai Jimmy in his patented bright pink T-shirt, red shorts and red hat was at the Toll plaza to flag down all the hash cars with the ground breaking news. Thanks guys. Rumour has it that Jimmy has been approached by Samy Vellu to provide consultancy on new outfits for the Toll cashiers. Thanks also to my co-hares, John & Sarah - we will get the medal run next time !

This week’s run was a 10 weeker from Run 1458. In the absence of the GM, both JMs and half the committee, On On was called promptly at 4.30 pm by Charles. Paper and pen in hand after failing to get a volunteer to scribe for me, we headed towards the river. Fell down in the river but managed to save the paper for precious run details. Of course, after the river crossing, the sky opened up and there goes the run notes. Here’s what I remembered of the run, though not in sequence – long climb up a never ending hill, sliding down slopes, passing two summer homes in the middle of nowhere with bountiful durian trees in the courtyard and the owner looking curiously at us. We crossed a swinging bridge, an extra long walk in the river, back into thick jungle, hills, cross river and back to run site. No idea how many checks, which direction we ran etc.

During the run, there was Maya running down hills with her two new toy boys under her arms and Cindy falling flat on her face, bounced up, smiled, waved, and continued running. I think the wine she consumed the previous evening was working overtime. Charles lamenting that he was unable to appoint a Bomoh for today’s run and Joe who was walking behind me and Ima during the long river walk, suddenly sprint past us at top speed. Lightning was heard in the far far galaxy and Joe was worried that the next lightning might strike the river and electrocute us!

Circle started with on-downs to Wolfgang, Patrick and Hugh for turning down the honor of being the Bomoh for the evening. Then the Bomoh was introduced – producer/writer/director/actor and PH3 director of entertainment, Paul Kirkman who proceeded to provide us with an entertaining circle. He started by thanking his mother the rain for giving him the opportunity to see the nipples underneath all the wet T-shirts. First in were a group of ‘continentals’ who were having verbal diarrhoea during the circle, not calling on on during the run and holding hands throughout the run. I think the real reason was because they were French. Heartbreaker and Kwan for sharing a romantic shower. Damsel in distress was looking for water to shower and Heartbreaker offered his supply. Being a gentleman, he held the heavy container to pour while she showered. Ay Lih, you better start turning up at the hash. Jimmy, what lessons have you been giving to Kwan? Colin Hercus for falling and cutting his hand. He enjoyed it so much that he decided to fall a second time and got another cut - good things come in pairs, so say a Chinese proverb. Ima and Rambo for short cutting and a few other sinners.

On On at new Lucky Light with 6 + 1 tables. First few dishes were vegetarian with protests heard. Fortunately common sense prevail and we got some healthy meat dishes. Hare admitted later that he did not know what was on the menu and he actually thought Nick was going to stitch him up ordering a vegetarian meal. Run was judged T-shirt because 1) the infamous PH3 toilet seat was under the custody of the GM who was absent, 2) Colin threatened to resign if he gets the toilet seat and 3) the deciding factor…..Colin promised that Michelle will be the one changing the T-shirt. And so, a T-shirt it was and Michelle gave a sneak preview of her tits bra.

Happy Birthday to Elaine, Nancy and Leila who turned 18, 21 and 28 years young respectively. Welcome to one young and beautiful virgin and a few guests. Triple On at Backyard. Thanks everyone for another enjoyable Saturday.
