Run 1529 - July 1

Hare: Irene Chin
Scribe: Drew Foyston

Arriving at the hash site I began to reflect on the things that I would be missing when I left Malaysia to continue my studies in Canada in late July: the food, the warmth, the wonderful road manners and the nature. In particular I was thinking how the area in which we hashed would probably be sacrificed to some apartment blocks which nobody will inhabit in the end (much like Lembah Beringin).

Unfortunately many good hashing sights near KL are being put up for apartments and houses (taking Bukit Kiara as another example).

Enough of this sentimental gab, and onto the hash: We all love hash sites which are close to KL, and this one only takes about 30 minutes for most people and has acceptable terrain. The one thing that this hash was lacking was paper even though we are given 4000 to 8000 pieces. Although, there were plenty of other people's paper which kept many of us occupied in many places along with the huge sections of missing PHHH paper which entailed some of us making our own path.

Apart from that major problem the hash was a great running one with not much technical terrain where you had to go slow and risked twisting an ankle. The running was a great treat for all whether they be runners, walkers or runner/walkers. Although I was late coming to the hash the checks were straight forward from what I could gather from the hashers who were there on time, although for some of us it seemed that those hashers did not fully break the checks.

Although there were many frustrating points on the hash regarding the laying of paper it was an enjoyable hash, not too far from KL and a lot of good running. My piece of advice for the next time this hare sets a hash; there is no such thing as too much paper.
