Run 1580 - June 23 2007

Hare: Roelof Schoemaker
Co Hare : Abraham Klok
Scribe: Greg Dall (for Kim Dall)

When I arrived at the run site I was duly informed by Nan that not only had I receed and set the run for the hare , I’ll have to write the scribe for today’s run. My wife has truly learnt the art of delegation. On the upside I got a good dinner and a good serving at home…

The infamous hares Roelof and Father Abraham striked fear amongst the not so fit hashers as the hares are notorious for their long hard runs and they didn’t disappoint us The first runner Jeremy came in at 2hours 5mins. I had to piss off early so I hate to think when the last runners came in.

The first half of the run kept the pack together with the first check at the top of a hill. The second check held the pack up for more than 15 mins. Kojak who needs his eyes checked called the pack down the river but it was the Mother’s run paper.

After the second check the pack diverged into the jungle and upon grilling some of the hashers I was told the trail went up….and up….and up….in true Abraham’s fashion. The trail went through serious jungle and turned back on itself to form a perfect figure of eight. At this stage ,Wolfgang and I decided to shorten the hares punishment and we did our own run instead. We were not the only ones because as we emerged from the jungle we met Rambo looking guilty. He said he wasn’t doing the run but looking for future camping sites by the river…’ yeah! sure Rambo’.

Jeff Foote who emerged looking bedraggled after two and half hours said through clenched teeth that he enjoyed the run. However, Jeff is a massarcist and the rest of the pack wasn’t so ecstatic.

All in all I believe it was a successful run albeit a ‘tat’ too long. Well done Roelof and Abraham as you have successfully retained your infamous title. Thanks to Wolfgang for his scintillating conversation…I now know all about wind power generator. Has anyone told Wolfgang that there’s no wind in Malaysia?
