Run 1597 - Oct 20 2007

Hare: Dennis Chin
Co-Hare: Shirley Tan
Venue: Ulu Yam Chicken Farm
Scribe: Tommy Chin (b/o David Wee)

GM Hugh honked his horn, 1630 Hours. More than 70 of us whisked off on the laterite out trail. Shitty smell was in the air as we ran pass the chicken farm.

CHECK#1 got the pack looping uphill to it. Trail went ANTI-CLOCKWISE.

CHECK#2, a circular check, was centered around 2 big water drums with a Wooden Hut. Is it the late Elvis Presley’s ? Paper led up to a confusing T-junction paper trail. FROPs and wannabes running around like headless chicken up and down a plenitude of little hills for possibilities. The rest played being statues for 15 minutes.

CHECK#3 was a hilltop check. The pack clambered through valley, hill, valley, hill, valley and walked single-file on the mid-hill sides before reaching this check. Pack veered CLOCKWISE as the tail of the S-SHAPED RUN craftily unveiled.

Heavy storm and dark, dark skies hovered the thick atmosphere. ON ON calls could barely be heard. Our no-gold Guinness SCBeed as usual. Kiasoo Pat, Lord of the Rings Awan and ‘where my nuts?’ Saru, were the BROPs! And FROPs Sen, Alister n handsome Ugly Mike popped out from out of nowhere various times, joining the pack. This is where well laid runs as this, with good loops and hilltop checks, gets the pack back running together at one point or other, save but except for, Emilia & Haversack 

CHECK#4 is near a karmic stream, nice and therapeutic. The trail led the pack into a choice of Long Run or Short Run. Being a super duper good runner as I am (ahem, wah lau eh!), I looked at my 2 boys with me, and decided for the short run. Well, they wanted the long, and I, wanted the short.

CHECK#5, the pack milled around 3 Indon huts by a clear broad stream, an easy check. Paper continued into a parallel trail – one by the stream below and the other up the terrace. Gay Boy clocked in FROP about an hour half or so. Run was judged a T-Shirt run. Thank you, Dennis and Tee, you’d done it again.

Emilia’s fine. She got out of the run at 1.30am. Thanks to our responsible ones who searched for 4 hours in the dark and got her out. They are namely, Rambo, Dennis and Tee. Acknowledgements to Mothersheep Hugh, Don Chuck Wow and Shirley, for waiting up so late with drinks and back up light. A great day of camaraderie, heroes and victim, but that’s not all….

Kamekaze Dave, Terry, their women and dog were recceeing at Leprosy Camp in the storm at time of run. Dave lost his dog, finds it in a 20 Foot long Python. He cut open python. Dog came out, alive, yes, alive. Question:
Does this mean we may have snake soup sare-karng on Halloween Run? ON ON
