Having volunteered to set last week's run at short notice, I was glad that the trailmaster also volunteered to set this run since nobody else came forward despite On sec's requests to the members. Kind of a shame really that in a group of 'keen' hashers such as PH3 only committee members step up to set what we all look forward to : a good Saturday afternoon run. Call it lazyness or apathy ???
Anyway, we all drove up to Ulu Yam to test this new runsite about 1km downstream from the usual Sendat Waterfall site. Decent open parking in a 'has been' resort area.
As is now the trend to satisfy all hashers, there were to be 2 runs, a normal run and a more challenging longer run. Yours truly, with Peter Cann, Chew Chew, Rob Stott and Lee Heard were planning on taking the longer trail and we were surprised never to find the split. As we stayed left of the Eagles nest resort at the 2nd check, we actually never passed go and never collected our $200 ! But we blasted our way through all the checks and were back in just under 1:30 minutes. Cheap rewards ! First runner on long run in 1:40. Both were good runs and earned the hare a T-shirt. We learned that the split was between 1st and 2nd check and that it took a long time for the long runners to break one of their checks up the hill.
Anyway, checks an all I ran 8km and really enjoyed being a 'FROP' all the way for once in long time ! Cheap thrills for our gang of 5 which was rewarded by a down down from the GM for not closing the checks !
Normal run about 7km and long run about 9 or 10 km.
Circle was conducted by the GM - wearing the blue wig of the ice queen- who did not waste any time by putting Frank 'powderballs' Wijnands nipples on ice for a "blue nipples' infraction. Jerry French butt and gonads were also frosted for not writing his scribe report as promised.
The other Jerry from NY (ex GM) erected a few sinners as well and the last one on ice was your truly for loosing his hash chair at the run site a couple weeks back (recovered by Mike 'whoremonger' Rickard).
On On was at a Chinese restaurant at the exit of Ulu Yam with RM 18 a head buying us a very good dinner !
