Run 1528 - June 24

Hare: Drew Foyston
Scribe: Stand in for Aileen - Gary Lorentz

After a scenic drive through the windy roads up and down hills to get to the run site, the run seemed like a reflection of the drive to the run site. On out and under a bridge to the south side of the highway.

The trail then scrambled along the side of some hills, through a banana field and across a river. The drop in to the river was fairly steep and the river was deep and pretty fast flowing. Getting up the river bank to continue on trail was a challenge as it was a very steep muddy bit. Most hashers had the opportunity to grab some butt here, just to help other hashers up the hill of course. Then there was a good running bit here along a road, through a kampong and then the fun started. A slight rise in elevation was followed by another rise in elevation and another and you get it. Up and Up and up we went. The air got a bit lighter at the top and then finally we got to go down. Down, down and down. When the trail started to flatten out we found ourselves on a swinging bridge. Then on a cement trail that was overgrown by plant life. Then onto a slanting bridge. One side was properly connected to the river bank and the other was just about to leave its precarious position and dropping into the river. But all made it back to run site with only a few leeches.

The circle started in a slight rain so umbrellas were the order of the day. Terry was the stand in Grand Master for the absent Dave S. Wolfgang took the opportunity to recognize the hares right off for a nice run, but asked why there was no imagination placed in setting the checks. All the checks on the run were very predictable and easy to break. This strung out the pack along the trail. No good response from the hares and they got their drink. A couple of hashers were recognized as good Samaritans for staying on at the steep muddy bit and grabbing asses as they helped push runners up the muddy bit out of the river. The next Bomoh, Klaus, pulled Peter Brooks in the circle for providing fresh durian to the hashers on the hood of his car after the run. I must say it was nice going down, but man burping it up for hours after, I began to wonder. Mary and Nick were recognized for wearing matching body condoms in the rain. Alister, Mike and Sen were rewarded for according to Sen they had brought some sort of rectal insertion device to the run site. Why? we did not want to know, but Mike said it was to stop anybody from stealing his car. Then it was back to Bukit Tinggi and the On On.
