Run 1537 - August 26

SCRIBE REPORT RUN 1537 -MERDEKA RUN

It was a pretty hot and muggy afternoon…. All were gathered at the parking lots around the hot spring. This is an unusual turnout for a Saturday run, seeing members who are not so regular and guests turning up to celebrate the 49th Merdeka. What a better time to do fellowship and promote peace and harmony amongst hashers!!

The run started at the end of the road which led into the orchards. The run through the orchards were accompanied by the smells of ripening jackfruits and of course the crowd favorites....durians.(that reminds me of Thomas and wife who is crazy about durian that he bought a basket from the orchard and we had durian to welcome us after a good run and washes it down with BEERS......)

As we progressed further into the run, we headed into high country…there was an especially steep hill that all had to traverse before the trail choosing to do either the medium or normal run.(heard some miss the turn and ended doing a long run. Could it be the durian!!)

The home trail was nice as there was a short river trail. The road back to the runsite also offered some nice scenery.

At the circle, the was a short skit put up by the members and orchestrated by Don Cheang. It was hilarious and highly entertaining show. It tells the tale of Malaysia’s road to independence and of how the different races contributed to it. PH3 do have a good team of upcoming artistes from the feedback. (Don, ever thought of doing part-time directing.....)

After that and a couple of on-downs, we adjourned for the on-on..

MERDEKA! MERDEKA! MERDEKA!
