Run 1557 - January 13 2007

The SMART run
Hare: Delboy
Co-Hare: Maid Marion
Scribe: Gail Thurkle [almost a frog, run report ] Done by Flo Joe.. Revised by Gary

Let’s start with the good points:-

GOOD POINTS:
1. Run site was near to the city which allowed a lot of hashers to show up. Good turnout, approx: 120 members and guests.

2. Good food, at the nearby Restaurant and free on on as well.
3. Thanks to the Hares for the good quality t-shirt for members.
4. Good running trail though slippery. The good thinking of the hares to tie strings to trees for the steep slopes helped. [Although probably left behind by other clubs and local walking groups.]
5. Also, a new run site for most of us which was good for a change, although is known to be popular to other clubs, judging by the amount of different paper about.
6. The long/short run were good options for the tough run trail.
7. Good turnout of hashers & guest for the on on, total of 8 tables. Choice of restaurant was good because is near to the run site.
Many were seen walking to the restaurant from the run site.
Service and food at the restaurant was good, especially having to cope with 8 tables.

NOT SO GOOD POINTS:
1. Directional signs need to be improved. RSC signs were at most junctions before we finally reached the 1st PHHH sign. Many got lost and were seen making u turns including Ramly.
2. Hares should have picked up other clubs trail papers. I picked up about 5 different types. Papers were too sparsely laid. Obviously, the hares were afraid that they would run out of paper, because I found a pile of PHHH papers towards the end of the run.

Well, more Good points than Not so good points and if not for the shortage of directions to the run site it would have been a well organized run
[Noted by Jimmy Legover that the run signs were found in a bag of Trail paper after the run.]

The run commenced, with a short sprint thru the local housing estate, then into the Jungle via a construction site….dodging trucks and Indons, from there the trail went up and up and up and a flat bit, then Up and up and up, another flat bit, and up and up and up till we found a check back, then Down, Down, down to a split in the trail marking the Long and Short selection of the run. By this time it was raining heavily and the trail became rather hazardous in places with the Short trail descending almost vertically to a small clearing set up with seats, a falsie disappeared down hill to the right of this clearing and two other trails leading away to the left , were also falsies. Several of us descended following the foreign ‘signs, tie wrapped to the trees labeled with ‘organizing committee’. These signs were good enough to lead us to the base of the hill and by following a water course back to the aforementioned construction site and back thru the houses to home.
For the runners who followed the Long trail it took them to the site of several waterfalls and up and down some more hills and eventually back to the beer wagon…

Bomoh was our much loved Greg Dall who entertained in his usual manner.
Colin King demonstrated his favorite sexual position…Colins bitch,.Hazel has been trained by observing her master in action and in turn mounts every other dog male or female.
Maureen demonstrated her ability to remove all her clothes under a Sarong …this time she did not drop the Sarong!!
The English cricket team again felt the sting of Greg’s tongue for their dismal performance at the hands of them magnificent Australians, the score now is 7-0. [That trophy cabinet is looking very empty now, is there anything left in it? Maybe they still have the Darts and the Flower Arrangement Spoons left? They will go well with all the wooden spoons they currently hold]
